Rupys 36th annual day function was celebrated on 21st of December this year. It was the most awaited event of the year and the students were greatly excited. Everyone gathered at the venue –The Army Club in Sundhara. The theme for the annual day programme this year was-“Rupys Journey – memories down the lane.”
The chief guest for the event was General Rajendra Chhetri, chief of the Army staff, Nepal Army. Our other distinguished guests were His excellency, the ambassador of Australia Mr Peter Budd, His excellency the ambassador of UAE Mr Saeed Hamdan Al Naqei , Dr Ajay Kumar, Deputy chief of Mission (Education wing) Indian Embassy , Honorable Mr Ek Nath Dhakal , Former minister for peace and constructions , Government of Nepal, Mr Vickrant Gurung, head of the department country examination , British council, Ms Pauline Vengeon, Director Alliance Franchaise , Mr Pritam Singh, Secretary Modern Indian School and Mr Abdullah Tuncer Kececi, country director of Turkish Airlines.
Various programmes were shown to the guests and parents which included songs, dances , dramas (in English, Hindi , Nepali) orchestra , zumba and Yoga. These were highly appreciated by our parents. Our school coordinator Gita Puri updated us with the school annual report. Two new awards were introduced this year. Dr Avtar Singh Josen trophy for the student of the year was given to Vikrant Kafle and Dr. Avinash Kaur Josen Trophy for the medical girl student was given to Namrata Koirala of Janaprabhat School, Baphal. Apart from this, Narona award was shared by Praneeta Pradhan and Arpana Shah of grade 10. Esther Dhakal of A- leve;s bagged the best debator award. Certificates and prizes were given to students securing first, second and third postiton in their respective classes.
Amid the applause and songs a huge cake was cut to mark the 36th anniversary of our school.Our senior co-ordinator Mr.Milan Pradhan gave the vote of thanks as the programme concluded. Overall the programme was a huge success.
