Rupy’s International school was first established in 1982 as the Children’s Castle, a pre-school designed to provide quality preschool experiences to children of the international community of Kathmandu, Nepal. Mrs. Rupinder Singh, a mother of three children and the founding director of “Rupy’s Pre school’, realized the definite need to create an environment for young children that is enriching both academically and spiritually. Rupy’s firm commitment and ideas were incorporated into the creation of this school for the welfare of children.
In 1996 The Children’s Castle took a new step. We opened our doors to Primary Level students. In July 1998 we moved to our present location in baphal, Tahachal. Our school is situated on eight ropanis of land offering a large space for preschool and primary play area, a parking area and a football field. We find the air very clean here, and the neighbourhood quiet. When our new session began in January 2001 we introduced ClassIX and Class X. Our curriculum in pre school is international, we follow the teachings of the Montessori Method. We have started the A levels programme under the University of Cambridge since July 2009. From the session 2010, the school has introduced Interactive boards as the latest method of teaching the students in our classes.
The school facility consists of a more than adequate play area for students. the play area is set in surroundings of natural beauty that offers spontaneous and creative play activities for all the participants.Inside the schools, the various classrooms exemplify the ever exploring mind of the child and yet display the sincere, loving and caring atmosphere of a healthy learning environment that is so necessary for the enrichment and growth of all children.
It is with the joint venture of the founding members, the present day advisory board members, the faculty and the parents that we provide a wonderful opportunity for children to learn and play well together. The staff is encouraged to look for each child’s strength, to develop that strength as well as the child’s independence and ability to cooperate with others. The children are encouraged to develop their abilities and talents, to grow independent, and to get along with others. To assist the child to develop as a complete well rounded individual is the primary goal at Rupy’s International School.
